My love of SIGG bottles started when my friend, E, bought one for my daughter. The “kid SIGG” fit her little hands well and was decorated with animals on a yellow background. These colorful nonplastic bottles contain a nontoxic plastic liner, and the outside (that does not touch the water) is made of aluminum.
My daughter loves her “special” bottle, and we received many positive comments on it when we went to playgroups. Another nice feature is that you always know which sippy cup is your child’s when 1) you have a SIGG and 2) you have such a unique design on your SIGG.
I liked my daughter’s bottle so much that I went and bought one for myself. I receive a lot of positive comments on the bottle’s beauty, and I’m happy about not using those disposable water bottles that often do not get recycled. For one, Dasani recently issued a press release that their water comes from municipal sources. In other words, it’s just tap water anyway. I can filter my water in my Brita (or not) and save myself money, save oil and reduce waste.
One little drawback is that these can dent. That is not a big deal to me when I think of how beautiful my SIGG is, how much oil I’ll save over a lifetime from not having water shipped to me from France, and how much landfill space I’ll save. It’s a good deal all around, and it pays for itself after about 12- 15 or so uses.
You can see the one I bought for myself to the right. I think it’s a work of art! So many people tell me how beautiful it is. When I saw someone else with the same design, I asked her if people are always saying how gorgeous it is. She laughed, pointed to the women next to her and said, “she just said that.” They’ve got SIGG bottles at Reusable Bags if you want to check them out.
